URTV

URTV is a hyper-local, hyper-personal, video-driven content management system designed to give community groups, schools, arts organisations, and health organisations a channel to publish their own videos, events, and community news. The Scotland-based startup is passionate about it's mission to deliver affordable reliable solutions to local communities and schools. In 2013, NESTA identified URTV as one of the top 5 "local solutions" in the UK.

Our role

Katana Code has worked with URTV since 2011 and together we launched URTV's daily news bulletins, Scotland's first independent and hyper-local video news publishing platform.

As their business model has evolved, Katana Code has been standing by to update the technology along side it.

We continue to work with URTV to enhance the platform's features.

URTV Web Platform

The URTV web platform drives each of the URTV stations.

Each station can be fully customised by URTV's partners, allowing them to change their fonts, colour schemes, page content, and branding from within the website itself—no developers required.

Behind the scenes, admins may upload and manage their ever-growing catalogue of news broadcasts and share them across the community.
